D Type Marine Rubber Fender
D type rubber fender is one of the most classic and widely used marine fenders in small ports, fishing harbors, jetties, barges, tugboats and workboats. With a simple D-shaped structure, it provides stable cushioning and effective collision protection for ships and dock facilities.

Material Advantages:
The material selection is flexible. The regular version uses imported natural rubber from Thailand combined with styrene-butadiene rubber to ensure the basic toughness and impact resistance. The high-end model is made of specially formulated ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber with a Shore hardness of 70, which is suitable for harsh Marine environments. If it is used in high-frequency mobile scenarios, chloroprene rubber will be selected, which has both high tensile strength and water resistance. Some of the products have undergone non-toxic and odorless vulcanization treatment, meeting the green environmental protection standards.

Manufacturing Process:
Raw material preparation: The process for the two types of fenders is the same. First, natural rubber, synthetic rubber, carbon black, anti-aging agents and other additives are mixed in proportion. The mixing is completed in two steps. The first step is to blend rubber with fillers to form a smooth base. The second step is to add sulfur and other vulcanizing agents to ensure the stability of material performance.
Forming processing: Both cylindrical fenders and D-shaped fenders are mainly formed by extrusion molding. The mixed rubber is extruded into shape through a mold, which can precisely control the size. For example, the diameter of cylindrical fenders can range from 20mm to 2700mm, and the specifications of D-shaped fenders cover multiple models from 20mm to 300mm. For special requirements, D-shaped fenders can also be made into specific arcs through vulcanization treatment to fit the circular curved surfaces of the bow and stern of ships.
Strengthening and curing: The semi-finished products after molding need to undergo high-temperature and high-pressure vulcanization treatment to cross-link rubber molecules, enhancing structural strength and wear resistance. Subsequently, the flat back of the D-shaped fender, the end ports of the cylindrical fender and other parts are ground. Meanwhile, installation holes can be prefabricated and pre-bending treatment can be completed as required.
Factory inspection: Test the compressive strength, tear strength and aging resistance of both. For cylindrical fenders, an additional air tightness test is required. For D-type fenders, the arc fit and installation firmness need to be tested. For the white version, the uniformity of the coloring should be checked. Only after there is no fading or cracking can it be packaged and sent out of the factory.
