Facing challenges such as extreme low temperatures of -60°C and sea ice impacts in polar regions, the industry has developed new materials such as modified nitrile rubber with added cold-resistant additives, combined with an aramid fiber reinforcement layer that exhibits minimal strength loss at low temperatures, maintaining elasticity even at -40°C. Furthermore, by adding a wear-resistant coating to the surface, optimizing the structure to a streamlined shape, and incorporating an intelligent monitoring system with temperature and pressure sensors, problems such as sea ice abrasion and the difficulty of low-temperature maintenance have been solved, providing a guarantee for the safety of ships in polar shipping routes such as the Arctic.
