Material selection requires a balance between strength, corrosion resistance, and application scenario (freshwater/seawater, or dock environments).
- Carbon Steel: Common grades include Q235, Q345 (Chinese standards) or A36, A572 (American standards). Low-cost and meet typical dock strength requirements. Requires surface anti-corrosion treatment (hot-dip galvanizing or epoxy paint). Suitable for freshwater docks or high-maintenance areas.
- Stainless Steel: Mainstream grades 316L or 304. Excellent seawater corrosion resistance with less frequent maintenance. Suitable for seawater docks, high humidity, or chemical pollution environments. Higher cost than carbon steel.
- High-Strength Alloy Steels: Grades such as NM450 and S690QL with tensile strengths exceeding 690 MPa. Withstand mooring pull of ultra-large vessels. Require specialized heat treatment (quenching and tempering). Used in deep-water ports or heavy-duty docks.
- Composite Materials: Fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) or carbon fiber. Lightweight with excellent corrosion resistance and no electrochemical corrosion risk. Suitable for floating docks but limited by high cost and poor impact resistance.
Manufacturing complies with international standards (ISO 3914, GB/T 25010) through five core steps:
- Raw Material Pretreatment: UT/MT testing to eliminate defects. Cutting according to design drawings. Forging or sand casting formation.
- Precision Machining: CNC lathes and milling machines ensure dimensional accuracy (tolerance ≤ ±0.5mm). Connection holes machined for tight fit (flatness ≤0.1mm/m).
- Welding and Flaw Detection: MIG/MAG welding with full welds. 100% non-destructive testing (UT) to ensure no defects and weld strength equal to parent material.
- Surface Anti-corrosion Treatment: Carbon steel: sandblasting, epoxy zinc-rich primer, polyurethane topcoat, or hot-dip galvanizing (zinc layer ≥ 85μm). Stainless steel: polishing (Ra ≤ 0.8μm) or passivation. Composites: UV-resistant resin coating.
- Finished Product Quality Inspection: Appearance, dimensional conformity, static load test (1.2× rated tensile force, 10 minutes), salt spray test (480 hours neutral salt spray).
- High Load-Bearing Capacity: Withstands extreme tensile forces (50 kN to 500+ kN). High-strength alloy steel models handle super-large vessels with dynamic loads from tides, wind, or currents.
- Compact & Space-Efficient Design: Single-post structure minimizes footprint for narrow docks and limited spaces. Cylindrical/conical column shape reduces vessel interference.
- Optimized Rope Interaction: Smooth, rounded top groove prevents rope abrasion. Chamfered edges avoid cutting or fraying ropes for enhanced safety.
- Corrosion Resistance: Stainless steel (316L) or FRP models resist saltwater, humidity, and chemicals. Coated carbon steel provides long-term protection in freshwater zones.
- Durable & Low-Maintenance: Robust materials resist deformation, impact, and fatigue. Stainless steel requires occasional cleaning; coated steel may need repainting every 5-10 years.
- Versatile Installation: Compatible with various foundations: bolted to concrete pedestals, welded to steel structures, adaptable to fixed or floating docks.
- Compliance with International Standards: Manufactured to ISO 3914, GB/T 25010, ABS, DNV, or Lloyd's Register certifications.
- Customizable for Specific Needs: Height, diameter, and load rating tailored to vessel size. Optional features: cable guides, anti-theft bolts, reflective markers.
- Small and Medium-Sized Terminals: Fishing piers, yacht marinas, small cargo terminals, inland river berths. Compact design suits limited space with load capacity 50-200 kN.
- Medium-Sized Cargo and Passenger Terminals: Coastal container terminals, RORO terminals, ferry terminals. Medium-strength bollards (150-300 kN) withstand dynamic loads from tides and wind.
- Special Environment Docks: Freshwater applications use carbon steel with anti-corrosion treatment. Saltwater applications require 316L stainless steel or high-strength alloys.
- Floating Docks and Water Platforms: Scenic area docks, temporary platforms, pontoons. Lightweight designs allow vertical movement from tides and waves.
- Offshore and Special Operation Areas: Offshore oil platforms, wind turbine docks, military ports. High-strength alloy models (300-500+ kN) withstand complex sea conditions.
- Temporary or Emergency Mooring Points: Emergency anchorage areas, temporary waiting areas, shipwreck salvage. Quick installation facilitates temporary rope winding.
- Preliminary Design: Professional selection guidance, anchoring system design, 3D modeling and simulation analysis for stability verification.
- Installation and Construction Support: Standardized installation manuals, on-site technical guidance, specialized tools and equipment provision.
- Strict Quality Testing: Raw material inspection, manufacturing process control, finished product testing including destructive and salt spray tests.
- International Certification Support: ISO 13795, GB/T 25010, ABS, DNV, and Lloyd's Register certifications with classification society inspection support.
