Latest company news about "Panama Fairlead Base" national standard for mooring equipment officially released

GB/T 47734-2026 "Ship and Offshore Technology - Ship Mooring and Towing Equipment - Panama Fairlead Base" ** compiled by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding was approved for release and will be officially implemented in September 2026, filling the gap in domestic unified technical specifications for core mooring accessories for Panamax ships.
The standard uniformly specifies technical requirements such as base material, load-bearing capacity, welding process, load test, anti-corrosion coating, etc. of the Panamanian fairlead, and is adapted to the world's mainstream ocean-going bulk carriers and container ships;
The specifications for the use of commonly used structural steels such as Fe250 and Fe350 are clarified, and mandatory constraints are imposed on third-party classification society inspections, dimensional tolerances, and anti-corrosion thickness of mooring equipment at the factory;
Help domestic ship outfitting products such as bollards, fairleads, and chain catches to better meet global shipyard bidding requirements, and enhance the export competitiveness of domestic mooring equipment in the Southeast Asian, Middle East, and South American ship markets.
Industry impact
In the future, exported marine mooring products must strictly follow this national standard for design, production and testing, which standardizes the technical thresholds for carbon steel and stainless steel mooring accessories, favoring domestic manufacturers with formal qualifications who can provide material certificates and ship inspection reports.
