Product Description

A-342 Forged Master Link | Alloy Steel Grade 80| Spraying Plastics | for Crane/Rigging/Shackles

Product Description:

Material Advantages:

High strength and excellent toughness: As a high-strength low-alloy steel, Grade 80 alloy contains alloying elements such as chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. After tempering, it possesses both superior load-bearing capacity (with a working load limit ranging from 2.2 tons to 169 tons) and avoids excessive brittleness, maintaining good ductility even at low temperatures, making it suitable for handling impact loads in lifting operations.

Strong corrosion resistance: The chromium in the alloy enhances the steel's inherent corrosion resistance. Combined with surface powder coating, it forms double protection, effectively isolating corrosive media such as air and moisture, reducing wear and tear in outdoor, humid, or industrial corrosive environments, and extending service life.

Good stability: The sulfur and phosphorus content in the material is strictly limited to below 0.030%, avoiding hot brittleness during welding and cold brittleness at low temperatures. Furthermore, the tempering process further stabilizes the material properties, ensuring it is not easily deformed or fractured during long-term high-stress operations.

Manufacturing Process:

Raw Material Cutting and Preliminary Processing: Based on product size requirements, Grade 80 alloy steel is precisely cut and pressed, laying the foundation for subsequent forging.

Die Forging: The pre-processed steel is forged using die forging technology to form an elliptical main chain link prototype. This process results in a denser metal grain structure, improving the overall strength of the component.

Quenching and Tempering: The forged chain links undergo quenching and tempering. This step is crucial for ensuring its Grade 80 strength rating, significantly improving the chain links' hardness, strength, and toughness to meet the high-strength requirements of lifting operations.

Defect Detection: 100% magnetic particle testing is used to comprehensively check for potential internal defects such as cracks in the chain links. Some products also undergo impact testing to ensure no quality issues.

Surface Coating and Drying: Qualified chain links undergo surface coating treatment, commonly in red or yellow, followed by oven drying to form a hard, smooth protective surface, completing production.

Features:

Ample Safety Guarantee: The safety factor for wire rope slings reaches 5:1, and for chain slings, it is 4:1. Each chain link undergoes verification testing at 2.5 times the rated working load. Some products also feature patented deformation indicators and product identification codes, enabling timely detection of potential deformation and material traceability, further enhancing safety.

Wide Compatibility: A wide range of sizes are available, from 1/2 inch to 4 inches, compatible with Class 80 lifting chains and wire rope slings. They can also be used with shackles, crane hooks, and various other accessories. Some models have enlarged internal dimensions for easier installation of more sling accessories.

Long Service Life: Forging technology combined with heat treatment ensures a robust and durable chain link structure. The powder-coated surface solves corrosion problems in outdoor and harsh working conditions. Multiple rounds of quality inspection before leaving the factory significantly reduce the probability of failure during use, extending the product's service life.

Clear and easy-to-identify markings: The chain links will be marked with "G80" or "8", and some brand products will also have raised lettering such as size and brand name, so that users can quickly confirm the specifications and grade and avoid misuse.

Technical Parameters:

Applications:

General Lifting Operations: A core component of cranes, commonly used for lifting heavy equipment and raw materials in factories and construction sites, such as the lifting of steel bars and beams in construction, and the loading and unloading of large machine tools in factories.

Industrial Production: Compatible with various rigging and shackles, widely used in steel mills, coal mines, petrochemical industries, etc., for lifting coal in mines and installing and securing large pipelines and equipment in petrochemical plants.

Marine and Shipping: Thanks to the corrosion resistance of its powder-coated and alloy materials, it can withstand the humid and high-salt-spray environment of the ocean, used for loading and unloading cargo on ships, and lifting and securing equipment on offshore platforms.

Towing and Bundling Operations: In addition to lifting, it can also be used for towing heavy vehicles and large equipment, and for securing and binding large cargo during transportation to ensure stability during transport.
