1. Production Process

Step 1: Raw Material Preparation & Fiber Extrusion

  • First, raw materials (polyethylene pellets, polypropylene (PP) pellets, Danline resin, and nylon chips) are selected and inspected for purity to ensure consistency in strength and durability.
  • The pellets/chips are fed into separate extruders, where they are heated to a molten state (temperatures vary by material: ~160–200°C for polyethylene/PP, ~250–280°C for nylon).
  • The molten material is then forced through spinnerets (fine-hole dies) to form continuous, thin filaments (monofilaments). These filaments are cooled rapidly using air or water to solidify, maintaining their structural integrity.

Step 2: Filament Drawing & Stranding

  • The solidified monofilaments undergo a drawing process: they are pulled through a series of rollers at controlled speeds to stretch the fibers. This step aligns the polymer molecules, enhancing tensile strength and reducing elongation—critical for withstanding commercial and marine loads.
  • Next, the drawn filaments (blended proportionally to combine polyethylene/PP’s water resistance, Danline’s toughness, and nylon’s elasticity) are grouped into bundles. These bundles are twisted together using a stranding machine to form three individual core strands. The twisting tension is calibrated to ensure uniform density across each strand.

Step 3: Cabling (3-Strand Twisting)

  • The three pre-twisted strands are fed into a cabling machine, where they are twisted together in the opposite direction of their individual strand twist (a process called “counter-twisting”). This counter-twist balances the rope’s internal tension, preventing it from unraveling and ensuring it lies flat when coiled.
  • The twisting speed and tension are monitored closely to achieve the desired 3-strand twisted structure—neither too loose (which weakens load-bearing) nor too tight (which reduces flexibility).

Step 4: Heat Setting & Surface Treatment

  • The newly formed rope is passed through a heat-setting oven at moderate temperatures (~80–120°C). This step stabilizes the twisted structure, minimizes post-production shrinkage, and enhances the rope’s resistance to stretching under load.
  • For marine and commercial durability, the rope may undergo additional surface treatments: a UV-inhibitor coating (to resist sun damage), an anti-abrasion layer (to reduce wear from friction), or a water-repellent finish (to further enhance moisture resistance, though polyethylene/PP are already inherently water-repellent).

Step 5: Quality Inspection, Cutting & Packaging

  • The finished rope is subjected to quality tests: tensile strength testing (to verify load capacity), abrasion resistance testing (to check durability), and visual inspection (to detect defects like uneven twisting or fiber breaks).
  • Passed ropes are cut into standard lengths (e.g., 50m, 100m, or custom lengths per commercial needs) using precision cutting machines.
  • Finally, the cut ropes are coiled neatly and packaged in durable materials (e.g., woven plastic bags or cardboard boxes) to protect them from dust and damage during storage and transportation.

2. Application Scope

Marine Industry

  • Mooring & Docking Lines: Used for securing small to medium commercial vessels (e.g., fishing boats, cargo skiffs) to docks, piers, or buoys. Its polyethylene/PP component resists saltwater corrosion, while nylon adds elasticity to absorb wave-induced shocks, protecting both the vessel and dock hardware.
  • Fishing Operations: Functions as fishing lines for commercial inshore fishing (e.g., catching small to medium fish species) or as ropes for securing fishing nets, traps, and equipment on board. Its 3-strand twist ensures knot stability (critical for netting), and Danline’s toughness withstands friction from fish scales and saltwater.
  • Temporary Marine Barriers: Deployed as floating barrier ropes to mark fishing zones, restrict vessel access in shallow waters, or contain floating debris. Its buoyancy (from polyethylene/PP) keeps it visible on the water surface, and UV resistance ensures long-term use in open marine environments.

Commercial & Industrial Use

  • Cargo Securement: Used to tie down light to medium cargo (e.g., boxes, small machinery parts) on trucks, trailers, or shipping containers. Its high tensile strength prevents cargo shifting during transit, while the twisted structure grips securely without damaging packaged goods.
  • Warehouse & Logistics: Functions as utility ropes for organizing inventory (e.g., bundling plastic sheets, securing pallets) or as temporary barriers in warehouse aisles. Its flexibility allows easy handling around tight spaces, and water resistance makes it suitable for damp warehouse environments.
  • Agricultural Commercial Tasks: Employed in commercial farming for securing bales of hay, tying down agricultural covers (e.g., plastic mulch, crop protection sheets), or guiding light farm equipment. Its resistance to moisture and dirt prevents rot, making it durable for outdoor farm use.

Packaging & Utility Applications

  • Heavy-Duty Packaging: Used to bundle large or heavy packages (e.g., industrial parts, bulk textiles) for shipping. Unlike thin packaging strings, its 3-strand structure provides enough strength to hold heavy loads without snapping, and plastic/nylon materials resist tearing.
  • Construction Site Utility: Serves as temporary utility ropes on construction sites for tasks like securing safety nets (for low-risk areas), hanging tools, or marking off non-accessible zones. Its abrasion resistance withstands contact with concrete and metal, and it is lightweight for easy transport across sites.
