Manufacturing Process
Material Pretreatment

Synthetic rubber raw materials are mixed with reinforcing agents, antioxidants, and other additives in precise proportions, and then plasticized at 120-150℃ using an internal mixer to ensure uniform rubber texture and stable elasticity.

Skeleton and Airbag Molding

High-strength polyester cord fabric is used as the skeleton layer, wound into a 600*1000mm cylindrical structure, with an inner rubber airtight layer. Preliminary shaping is achieved using a vulcanizing machine to ensure airtightness.

Overall Vulcanization Process

The molded fender is placed in a large vulcanizing tank and vulcanized at 150-160℃ and 1.5-2.0MPa pressure for 4-6 hours to allow the rubber molecules to fully cross-link, improving material strength and anti-aging properties.

Accessory Assembly and Sealing

Inflation valves, flange joints, and other accessories are installed. Secondary vulcanization sealing is used at the interfaces to ensure no air leakage. A wear-resistant protective coating is applied to the outer layer to enhance surface abrasion resistance.

Finished Product Inspection

Products pass airtightness tests (pressurized to 0.3-0.5MPa and held for 24 hours without leakage), impact resistance tests, and dimensional accuracy tests. Unqualified products are reworked directly, and the factory pass rate is over 99%.

Marine Rubber Fenders pneumatic CTN type with sling made of natural rubber providing strong tensile and wear resistant performance
Product Features

Pneumatic rubber fenders are a world-leading marine anti-collision solution for ship-to-ship and ship-to-dock operations. They are an ideal ship protection solution and widely used in large oil tankers, liquefied petroleum gas ships, offshore platforms, bulk carriers, floating structures, large docks, and ports.

Our fenders are manufactured using a synthetic cord reinforced rubber sheet, with compressed air inside which can float on water as a protective medium. All our pneumatic rubber fenders are manufactured to a high quality and fully compliant to ISO 17357-1:2014 standards. This ensures longevity and low maintenance, no matter how demanding the environment.

We handle some of the world’s largest vessels, and Yokohama’s fenders provide unmatched protection. They’re lightweight yet ultra-strong, making deployment and storage easy. Even under extreme pressure from heavy mooring forces, the fenders never fail. A reliable solution for high-traffic international ports

Our port values sustainability and durability—these fenders deliver both. They’re built to last, reducing waste from frequent replacements, and their efficient energy absorption lowers operational risks. We particularly appreciate how they perform in inclined berthing scenarios, a common challenge at our port

We’ve used Yokohama’s pneumatic fenders for 3 years at our busy container terminal. Their shock absorption is exceptional—even during rough sea conditions with large vessels, the fenders prevent hull and dock damage. Installation was a breeze, and maintenance is nearly non-existent. Worth every penny for long-term reliability!
