Product Description

White Color 10-160mm 2 Inch Custom 8 Strands Braided Nylon Rope for Marine Boat &ship Rope

Production Process

Step 1: Nylon Fiber Preparation

  • Select high-grade marine-specific nylon chips (e.g., nylon 6 or nylon 66) with inherent water, salt, and UV resistance. Melt the chips at a controlled temperature (typically 250–280°C) in an extruder, then extrude the molten nylon through spinnerets to form continuous filaments.
  • Draw the filaments to align the molecular structure, enhancing tensile strength and reducing elongation—critical for marine load-bearing. The filaments are then cooled, oiled to reduce friction during subsequent processes, and wound into large bobbins as raw fiber bundles.

Step 2: Strand Spinning & Coloring (White)

  • Feed the nylon filaments from bobbins into a stranding machine. Combine multiple filaments (the number depends on the target rope diameter: more filaments for thicker 160mm ropes, fewer for 10mm ropes) to form individual strands.
  • For the white color, incorporate non-fading, marine-grade white pigments during the fiber extrusion stage (or apply a uniform white coating post-spinning, ensuring the color resists bleaching from sunlight and saltwater). The machine twists the filament bundles tightly to create 8 separate, consistent white strands, each wound onto dedicated spools.

Step 3: 8-Strand Braiding

  • Mount the 8 spools of white nylon strands onto a braiding machine (typically a circular braider with 8 carrier positions). Set the machine parameters (braid density, twist rate) according to the custom diameter (10–160mm, including 2-inch/50.8mm) and marine performance requirements.
  • The machine interlaces the 8 strands in a precise, symmetrical pattern to form a tight, hollow or solid-core braided structure. For thicker ropes (e.g., 100–160mm), a secondary braiding pass may be added to reinforce density and evenness, ensuring the rope can withstand heavy marine loads.

Step 4: Heat Setting & Stabilization

  • Pass the braided rope through a heat-setting oven at a moderate temperature (120–150°C). This process relaxes internal fiber tension, prevents shrinkage during future use (e.g., when exposed to warm seawater), and locks the braid structure in place—avoiding strand slippage under tension.
  • Cool the rope gradually to room temperature to maintain structural stability, then subject it to a tension test to verify consistency across the length.

Step 5: Surface Treatment & Quality Inspection

  • Apply a marine-grade protective coating (optional, based on customization) to enhance abrasion resistance and reduce water absorption, without compromising flexibility.
  • Conduct rigorous quality checks: measure diameter at multiple points to ensure it meets the 10–160mm custom range, test tensile strength and elongation against marine standards, inspect for strand breaks or uneven braiding, and verify the white color is uniform and fade-resistant.
  • Cut the rope to custom lengths (per client requirements), wind it onto shipping reels or coils, and package it to prevent damage during transportation.

2. Application Scope

Marine Vessel Mooring & Docking

  • Suitable for mooring lines and dock lines for all types of marine vessels, from small recreational boats (using 10–30mm ropes) to large commercial ships (relying on 80–160mm/2-inch+ ropes). The 8-strand braided structure ensures even load distribution, while white color enhances visibility in low-light or foggy conditions—reducing collision risks with other vessels or docks. It withstands saltwater corrosion and friction from metal cleats or concrete pilings.

Anchor Lines & Towing Operations

  • Used as anchor lines for boats and ships, where its high tensile strength (enhanced by 8-strand braiding) secures vessels against strong tides and winds. The white color allows crew to easily monitor rope wear or tangles during anchor deployment/retrieval. For towing (e.g., pulling small boats behind ships or assisting stranded vessels), the rope’s flexibility and shock absorption (inherent to nylon) minimize strain on both the towing and towed vessels, while its white hue improves visibility to nearby watercraft.

On-Board Equipment Securement

  • Ideal for securing on-deck equipment such as life rafts, fenders, fishing gear, cargo containers (for small ships), or maintenance tools. The customizable diameter (10mm for light gear, 50–160mm for heavy equipment) ensures a tailored fit, while the white color resists discoloration from salt spray and sunlight—maintaining a clean, professional appearance on commercial ships. The braided structure prevents the rope from slipping on wet decks, reducing equipment loss risks.

Marine Infrastructure & Recreational Use

  • Applied in marine infrastructure projects, such as securing floating docks, buoys, or temporary barriers (e.g., for swimming areas or construction zones in harbors). The white color makes buoys and barriers highly visible to boats, while the rope’s durability withstands constant exposure to waves and saltwater. For recreational marine activities (e.g., water sports, yacht trips), smaller diameters (10–30mm) are used as tow ropes for water skiing/wakeboarding or as safety lines—with the white color enhancing visibility for swimmers and watercraft operators.

Emergency & Safety Applications

  • Serves as emergency ropes for marine vessels, including lifeboat launch lines, emergency tow lines, or rescue ropes for crew overboard situations. The white color ensures high visibility in open water (critical for rescue operations), while the 8-strand braided nylon construction offers reliable strength in urgent scenarios (e.g., pulling crew members from the water or stabilizing damaged vessels). Its resistance to water absorption prevents it from becoming heavy or brittle during emergency use.
